2008 Elections

President in Oval Office

The 2008 elections give us all a chance to have a voice in the issues that affect our daily lives. Being an informed voter is a duty we all have.

Welcome to the New SEIU Local 226 Website.  There are many new features a new look and layout of the site.  If you are looking for information on contacting the Local, up at the top by the search box are the contact links.  If you are looking for information regarding your contracts, stewards etc., this is under workksites in the left navigation list.  Other information is avalable on the other pages.  Take a few minutes to get acquanted with the new layout and navigation.  I think you will find the site is a big improvement over the old one.  We are still developing content so keep checking back for updated information.  If you have any comments please e-mail the webmaster.  We hope you enjoy the new site and return often to keep updated on the latest information regarding your union.

SEPTEMBERFEST - Local 226 will be joining the Labor Day parade. If you would like to join in the fun and be on the committee to building our float and participate in the parade, please call our office at 733-8775. We will be renting a bus again for the parade. We will be selling the tickets for all rides for all five days for $15.00 each. These will be sold in our office, but they must be purchased by August 15th.

Don’t we all deserve a chance at the American Dream?

To the President and Congress:

The Employee Free Choice Act would create a fair playing field that allows all workers the freedom to form unions so we can create good jobs, win health care for all, and provide the services our communities need.  Creating good jobs today will make it possible for our kids to achieve the American Dream tomorrow. I urge you to stand with workers and pass the Employee Free Choice Act.

Plans are being made for the 2008 SEIU 226 Picnic

The picnic will be held Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at N.P. Dodge Park in Omaha. More information to follow.

Our Negotiating teams are busy working hard to better our contracts. If you have any suggestions or concerns please contact the Local's Office at 733-8775 and pass them on. Without input from you, our negotiating teams don't have information they need to negotiate the best contracts they can.
